Synopsis
As “Radical, French, Appalachian Hillbilly” Camille Shaffer turns 80, she reflects on her life, art, and death at her home “Azule”— a house on a hill in the heart of Appalachia. As a self-taught architect, builder, mosaic-artist, and quilt weaver, her choices are constructed in tiny fragments of intention moving towards completion. She dresses exclusively in blue (the color of the working party in France) and sorts out tiles for the mosaic she claims she will never finish while she’s alive. But neither did Gaudí, she’ll say. Someone else will finish it when she’s dead.
